Japanese Sencha Fukujyu Green Tea is from Shizuoka in the Fujiyama mountain slopes, the spiritual home of sencha. This sencha is harvested in autumn, and sorted by hand. Sencha means ‘steamed’. The tea is carefully processed and slightly steamed before rolling and drying. It is a method of stopping the oxidisation of green leaves.
The leaf has a very fine and fragile structure. The infusion has a shimmering light olive green colour, rich in vitamin C. It is mild and delicious with a subtle grassy sweetness. A lovely afternoon and evening tea.
