Nestled in the foot hills of the Himalayas between Nepal and Bhutan in West Bengal, is the Gopaldhara Tea Estate, one of the highest in Darjeeling, and indeed the World, with elevations of between 1,700m and 2,100m.
Known as the Champagne of teas, this tea is from the second picking and is regarded as the most characteristic type of this exceptional tea.
The tippy leaves produce a golden liquor with a lovely muscatel character. The smooth rounded flavours make it a perfect tea for drinking without milk, though equally nice with milk which brings out its malty notes.
Brew with freshly drawn boiled water for 3-5 minutes.
